NJ Advance Media was formed in 2014 with two primary objectives. In a 2014 press release, Matt Kraner, President was quoted, “We remain dedicated to serving the people of New Jersey with top-quality journalism — both in print and in digital media. Likewise, we’re committed to developing new products and services to help our advertisers grow their businesses…”
11 months later, we’re excited to announce that NJ Advance Media’s work has taken top honors in the New Jersey Press Association’s (NJPA) 2014 Better Newspaper Contest.
According to the NJPA, the association’s Best Ad and Editorial Contests encourage excellence by recognizing the achievements of NJPA member newspapers and digital news organizations. The contest looks to the future by encouraging news organizations to find new ways to inform, entertain, enlighten and engage their readers.
NJ Advance Media sales and marketing team was recognized for its creative work, winning 19 first-place awards, 14 second-place awards and 16 third-place awards for The Star-Ledger. In addition, NJ Advance Media sales and marketing team’s advertising and design entries won the General Excellence award as the best in show across all categories and entrants in the contest.
On April 23, journalists from NJ Advance Media and its associated publications received 87 honors in individual categories while The Star-Ledger won the general excellence award in the editorial contest for daily newspapers with more than 30,000 circulation.
